NOLA Trip Day One - Mar 1st

   I had a trip with ROTC to New Orleans today.  The trip was like six to seven hours I believe.  We had to share a bus with Druid Hills where they sat on the left and we sat on the right. The ride was okay.. I expected it to be longer, honestly. We got to stop at a gas station because someone wanted to use the restroom and we couldn’t defecate in the bus’s restroom.  At the gas station, we took the opportunity to buy things. I bought this skull keychain and I bought a friend a bullet keychain.  As far as the rest of the ride, it was okay.  I had snacks from home that I brought so I wasn’t worried about buying any food. Later, we went to the hotel and dropped our bags off.  We had three to a room and I was roomed with people I got along with luckily.  Commander and Petty Officer as well as Senior Chief had us all go to Walmart to get whatever we needed.  My roommates and I decided that we wanted to by disinfectants and cleaning supplies for our room as well as food.  After we came back, we got dinner and just hung around the hotel until the next day.

 It'd had been the summer of 2014 and I was over at my grandma's.  As you get older, an unspoken expectation of you gets larger.  In this case, the expectation had been knowing how to carry myself at my grandmother's church without having to be corrected.  Back when I did go to church, I dressed formal but it wasn't strict because It was my mom's church.  The difference between my mom and my grandma's church was simply demographic, and my grandma's church was full of old or conservative Jamaicans.  I decided that one morning I would wear some shorts and a tank top after the service was over which my grandma didn't approve of.  I ended up having to go home; I wasn't complaining though.

Reflection Jan/20/23

 In class, Mr.Rease gave us a writing prompt. We had to think of a topic that we thought was overrated. The topic I went with was “wanting to fitting in”.  We then had to come up with five points to go with the main topic. My subtopics were: insecure, dependent, bad clout, superficial, and temporary. Of course, we had to elaborate on those subtopics. We put them in a graph where theres a circle in the middle and the small circles extending from it. Next week we’ll turn them into essays.
